Overriding the default CSS

I try to override the DecoratedTabPanel. I have defined mu CSS using
the same structure in Standard.css but it is taking somesetting and
ignoring some settings. For eg. i am able to change the border and
background color of tabItems. but unable to do the same for selected-
TabItems.
No clue... :(
