Can you add a gadget programmatically to a new worksheet in a spreadsheet?

I want to create a new worksheet with just a motion chart (data from
existing sheet). This possible?

All gadgets in a google spreadsheets can be moved to their own sheet where they are displayed over the entire sheet.
First create the gadget and then select 'Move to own sheet' from the gadget right side menu.

Yes I know of that method. I was hoping that it could be done
programmatically using the Spreadsheets and/or Visualization API. It
seems it cannot be done, unless I'm mistaken.

There is currently no programmatic way to do this.
