I too am having this problem!!! I've checked everything.. no programs
using 443, it's open on my Windows Firewall and in my router
firewall.. it was working a few days ago..
We did just upgrade to Vista Ultimate Service Pack 1. I wonder...
shalom 2U,
I'm having the same odd problem. I didn't change anything in my
configuration, I know my port 443 is open and is not in use by any
other program...
it's just about 3 days ago, the windows uploader stopped to log in,
and returns just an odd error. it's causing me severe problems since
all our www.kolisrael.tv website is built on the basis of permanent
video uploads to google service...
any good idea will be happily and blessingly received
thanx in advance,

I have same problem. Cannot login to google video uploader. I can log
in to my account fine but not the uploader. I've used it before but
now I can't log in and have tried all of Google's canned suggestions.
Anyone know if this is a global issue with Google or something else?
I've been having the same problem since last Tuesday. I checked all
their suggested help tips, and none made a difference. I did send a
detailed email to their help, but have not received anything other
than their general response email.
A couple days later, I can log into my account via the
uploader......and my videos seem to upload. However, I used to see
them in my video status page within thirty minutes of an upload. Now
I have several that have been up for days and I still have not found
them. I know it can take longer for them to leave the "process" tab,
but these videos have never even showed up under the "needs action"
tab yet.
It seems there must be something globally going on. Our pc has not
had any changes or updates since my last successful upload that I can
actually view (March 17th).
Below is a message from a Google representative that is posted in
another room. Apparently they are experiencing major issues with PC
uploads. You can try changing firewalls and settings, but odds are
your problems are the same that are being experienced across the
board.
The worst part seems to be that we won't know it's fixed unless we
keep trying to upload videos! Oh well, kick em off before bed I
guess.
I started a new thread under Tips & Tricks. Here's what I said:
+++++
Tuesday, March 25, 2008 ... Day 10
Thought I'd start a new thread because the old one was getting too
long to follow.
Here's a summary, for anyone who missed it...
First of all, if you are trying to use the GV Uploader, DO NOT WASTE
TIME MESSING WITH YOUR COMPUTER. The problem is not on your end.
If your video is less than 100 MB, use the browser interface. It
still
works.
If your video is bigger than 100 MB, you must use the GV Uploader --
which you can't do right now because it's broken. This is the case
with all three versions -- Linux, Mac and Windows (Linux is generally
best).
In 2007, the Uploader had intermittent problems, but never longer
than
about 2 or 3 days at a time.
Then, in early January, Google changed its hinted streaming
technology. No longer could you "skip around" inside a video before
it
fully loaded. BUT all of a sudden, the Uploader started working
perfectly.
The Uploader worked beautifully, without a hitch, for the next two
months.
Then, sometime during the week of March 9, Google brought back the
old
streaming technology (you could skip around inside a video again) --
and the Uploader started to fail.
On Sunday, March 16, the Uploader failed completely. If you tried to
log in, it kicked you off and gave you this message:
"Bad response from server: expected 200 OK; got HTTP/1.1 400 Bad
Request"
Some users reported different error messages, but the effect was the
same.
Then, on Tuesday, March 18, the Uploader *looked* like it was letting
you log in, and it *looked* like it was uploading videos -- but it
really wasn't. The videos did not show up in your account.
Google Corporate was contacted. They were apologetic and said their
Google Video Team was working on a solution. (This conversation was
repeated later in the week, as well.)
On Monday, March 24, the Uploader started behaving the same way it
was
behaving when it first broke down on March 16. As of this writing, if
you try to log in, it will kick you off and give you the "Bad
response
from server" message.
If anyone is getting a different message or having a different
experience with the Uploader, you might want to post a message here
so
the good folks at Google are aware of it.

Hi,
Thanks for your email. We're aware of this problem, and our engineers
are looking into it. We hope to have it fixed soon. Google Video, like
other Labs projects, is a work in progress. We appreciate your
feedback and support as we work to improve this service.
Want to discuss Google Video with other users or find tips on the best
video encoding technology? Visit http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Video-Help to search past posts and stay up to date on any new features or
issues. Also, visit the Google Video Status Blog at http://googlevideostatus.blogspot.com/ for system alerts, outages, and status updates.
I got the same response from them. I thought the blogspot site was
great, because now I could just check that to see when the thing was
fixed. Unfortunately, it seems that while it's a good plan....the
site isn't actually updated on a regular basis. The blogspot site
shows nothing about this current problem. Oh well, it was a good
idea!

How long does it take this QUARTER TRILLION dollar company to recruit
someone who knows how to fix the uploader? Or better yet, maybe they
are considering axing the greater than 100mb videos. I mean how can
they afford that kind of space? Does anyone know of any other >100mb
video hosting? I was checking out www.imeem.com and it seems decent.
ihave two email addresses with googlemail. one is an old one through
which i have uploaded many videos. but as the dscussion says the
message i get is:
"Unable to login. Please check your email/password and check network
connection is up."
but the interesting fact is that, my new email address works just fine
and it says
"Successful login. Please add files to upload"
Maybe theproblem is with old email addresses who have uploaded prior
videos.
