Hi Leslie et al,

Our mentoring organization has roughly 6 projects participating under
it and we want to ensure fairness in the distribution of students. We
intend to collectively decide and order the applications using the
point system so that each project gets its first student before other
projects get a second student. Example:

20 points - Project A - Student 1
19 points - Project B - Student 2
18 points - Project C - Student 3
17 points - Project A - Student 4
16 points - Project B - Student 5
15 points - Project C - Student 6
14 points - Project A - Student 7

In the event that student 2 isn't eligible or is already allocated
elsewhere, how might we indicate that we would like student 5 to be
selected before student 4?

We have a wiki page that communicates this; would you guys be willing
to refer to it during your all-night-allocate-the-students bash, in
the event of a conflict? Unfortunately the titles of the applications
do not offer much of a hint as to which project they belong to, but
our wiki page does distinguish them.

Thanks!
Cory.

Based on lack of response, may I assume this case won't be dealt with?

Thanks,
Cory.

Hadn't had time to reply yet.

The only way to indicate which students you want is to score them in order.  The extra review step you're proposing isn't possible for us to do with all organizations, so I'm afraid we can't make a special exception for you folks.

Cheers,
LH
