You can still participate in OSS development outside of Summer of Code

That said, LH will have to confirm, but based on my experience, you MUST

I was off from school for a semester. I had the same problem. You have to be a registered student as of a certain date (see the FAQ for this date.)
You can still participate in OSS development outside of Summer of Code -- and you SHOULD.
That said, LH will have to confirm, but based on my experience, you MUST be a student.
I'm graduating in april and the official calendar of my university
states that the semester ends on april 24.
So, if I can get a "transcripts or other documentation" that prove
that I was enrolled on april 24, does that means that I can
participate in GSoC even if I'm no longer a student?
If not, how can Google know that I'm cheating? :)
Thanks.

Accept The Challenge God Will Guide.
I am a student just graduated at masters level not working yet. I
would love to participate. Am I eligible?
You are right when you write about trust, it's an important part of
the open source community.
I will let real students do the job; they deserve it more than me.
Thanks again.
I'm an engineering student from India, Kerala and am more than
enthusiastic to be participating in the Summer of Code programme this
year. I would like to know about the eligibility based on the
knowledge that people have. I mean that I am a person who has come to
the programming field just a year ago and have just started developing
that huge appetite for codes. C is my language of expertise and it is
the only tool that I have at my command right at the moment. But I'm
sure it'll be only a matter of time before I start into the 'open'
world. So, as I wish to be participating this year, what all steps can
I take as of from today?
Thanking you for your time and attention,
Yours sincerely,
Cyber Zep.
