Each time I click on the Google Reader button on the Google Toolbar in
Firefox, or try to read feeds from my iGoogle page, I get redirected
to the Google Apps login page.
This has happened on Firefox 3 both on Windows XP SP3 and an Apple OS
X 10.4.11 operating systems, so the problem would appear to be with my
account rather than the computer I'm using (I have never logged into
the Apple computer before, and my husband who also uses Google Reader
has experienced no problems on that computer).

I'm getting this too. I've tried marking the first message that Reader
tries to show as read (in iGoogle), but that doesn't work. This
problem occurs in IE6, FF2, and Chrome. It's really annoying.

Thanks for your vigilant troubleshooting; this is indeed a problem
with a post on the Google Webmaster Central blog. An embedded item is
attempting to redirect viewers to a login page. We're working both to
have the blog post corrected and to have Reader handle these types of
situations more appropriately. In the meantime, you may be able to
circumvent this problem by using the following workaround:
1. Switch to a different feed
2. Switch to viewing only 'new' items as opposed to 'all' items
3. Switch to 'List View'
4. Click on the Google Webmaster Central Blog in the left-hand sidebar
5. Use the n/p keyboard shortcuts to find the post in question (it
should have a duplicate title)
6. Click 'm' to mark it as read
7. Click the 'refresh' button
If this doesn't work, you can also temporarily unsubscribe from the
Google Webmaster Central blog. I apologize for the inconvenience!
