We have taken a whitelist approach to embedded video, thus we'll need
to include WordPress for its embeds to show up. This should happen in
the next Reader release.
Please keep in mind that the video appeared on wordpress.org, but is
actually hosted on wordpress.com, which you can see in the embed code.
Just wanted to make that clear, I think one could get confused reading
my initial post.

BTW:
Wouldn't it be nice to make that whitelist public, so everyone knows
what site content is one is able to embed?ŽAnd maybe you could even
add a form, so that new sites could be submitted.

Thanks for the suggestions. We're actually currently working on ways
to make it easier to submit embedded media players for verification
and eventual inclusion in Reader. We've proceeded cautiously due to
security concerns but are always looking for ways to make using Reader
a richer experience. Thanks for bringing this to the forefront.
Yes, I am having a similar problem, but with Photoshelter photos and
slideshows embedded in my wordpress blog posts. (The actual content is
on the Photoshelter servers)
Please do what you can to make more flash content show up in Reader!

The code is taken directly from the "Embed" field in Youtube.
