Subject: "/" character is subsituted by %2F
Hi,

In the following feed http://rss.prnewswire.com/industry/health-biotech/
, the original embedded links have a "/" separator in the URL. When
launched by Google Reader they are translated into %2F and cause a
page error. If I edit the erred link manually and replace all %2F
with / I get the correct page.

I have been subscribed to this feed for many months now and this
problem started a week or so ago.

Thanks
yoav at medan-il.com

I'm having the same problem at this feed:
http://www.capecodonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?Category=rss02&mim...

The trigger breaking both feeds seems to be an equals sign immediately
preceding a slash.

For example: http://www.capecodonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090206/MEDI...

Reader takes the URL above and turns it into this:
http://www.capecodonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=%2F20090206%2F...

I guess it could also be the question mark too, but I'm not sure. This
is a new issue for me as well. Please take a look at this!

Thanks,
Will

I've the same problem:

example feed: http://www.ixbt.com/export/news.rdf

In Opera Feed Reader the correct link is:
http://www.ixbt.com/news/all/index.shtml?11/58/85 and it opens
correctly.

In Google Reader a same link has string:
http://www.ixbt.com/news/all/index.shtml?11%2F58%2F85 and it not
worked.

Same here with many feeds. Just an example, this feed:

http://www.eindhovensdagblad.nl/eindhovenstad/?service=rss

Contains this article link:
http://nl.sitestat.com/wegener/eindhovensdagblad/s?clickin.regio.eind...

Which becomes this link:
http://http%3a%2f%2fwww.ed.nl%2fregio%2feindhovenstad%2f4475839%2fluc...

As you can see, the original link points to sitestat.com which
immediately redirects to ed.nl. This goes well while reading the rss-
feed directly in Firefox. In Google Reader / becomes %2f and the url
starts with http://http%3a%2f%2f. I can only say:

*#%^#@&^#^!

;)

I hope Google will fix this soon.

Hi Martin,

The link can be opened (e.g. in a new tab) after installing Redirect
Remover: http://redirectremover.mozdev.org/

I have the same issue with other Wegener media (e.g. PZC). If they
weren't using Nedstat for redirects the problem might not be existing.

Regards, SanderG

Thanks SanderG. Problem is, I cannot install redirectremover. I
read ... (well used to read) the feeds at work and on my iPhone. I
really think Google should fix this. After all, other feed readers
still work. Despite the Nedstat redirects. And Google Reader used to
work before they *&^-up... Anyway, thanks for your reply :)

Does anyone know how to reach the Google Reader team? Clearly they do
not read this group ... :(

I just manually replaced %2f with / .  It's annoying, but it's a
temporary solution.
