I'm unable to load google reader, I just have the loading message and nothing append. If I try to access my account on a mobile phone, I have a server error.
What's going on ? I need my google reader for work :/
I have this problem too. This issue reproduces for IE6 and FF2 with my account, I tried to use another google account with no subscriptions and it works.

OK. So we all have the same problem. Is anyone at Google aware of this issue? Can anyone at Google tell us at least what would be the best way to get a copy of our latest opml file? Thank you.

Hey Alex, thanks for that link. I have confidence (now that I realize I am not the only one affected and that Google is aware of the problem) that everything will be back to normal soon. However, it worried me that I had never backed up by subscription list prior to this happening.
For everyone else, not sure if this is helpful... but this is a direct link to be able to determine if you are affected or not:
If this loads into your settings, you're fine. If this shows a 500 server error, you've got to wait until Google fixes this. Sometimes, for me, it is nicer to see a direct server error and know that Google is working on it rather than seeing a Yellow Loading Message of Death.

That is a very interesting (and unusual) problem. Is it a sign of some integration between the two, or just a coincidence involving some other more complex security-related problems?

So that's why so few people where reporting this problem ^^;;;
Thanks for solving the problem :-) I was almost switching to another feed reader, but couldn't find any that had the same "googlereaderness" of Google Reader - one would be more like iGoogle, other would look like a mail reader, another has no shortcuts, etc... I'm so relieved (right word?) of not having to leave Google Reader ^_^

This is not happening in the older UI for Gmail. It happens in both
FireFox and IE. It does NOT happen with a test account. However, the
account that it does fail for... is the account which also happens to
be signed up for the orkut sandbox (for OpenSocial development.)
So, could this Google Reader problem now be happening for Gmail? How
are all of these connected?
