I used to be able to add any feed to Google Reader just by clicking on the RSS/Feed Icon in Firefox. After the click, I was directed to a page asking if I wanted to add the feed to my Google Home Page or to Google Reader. But now the only option available is adding it to my Google Home Page, which is not what I want to do.... How do I fix this???
The same is happening to me since August 22. Though Google Reader is a must everyday for me (I have 102 suscriptions and counting), I prefer the plain Google version as my homepage rather than the overloaded iGoogle (I recall being a Google fan since its beginnings because of its visual simplicity, against those overloaded Altavista and Yahoo! searchers). So please, if itīs some kind of error, I would really appreciate to know how it could be fixed; if Google mates are considering to automatically add feeds to Google Home Page, I donīt think itīs a good idea. I love Google Reader!
This is currently happening when either your browser or your Google preferences are set to a default language other than English. Changing your preferences to English would show you the regular page with both iGoogle and Reader options. However, since I assume you'd probably like to maintain your language settings, you might prefer to just subscribe directly through Reader. (That is, log in to Reader, then click "Add Subscription" and enter the feed URL there.) We're looking into the issue, though.
