I agree with kronicfatigue.

The Google Reader team needs to explain why they won't fix the thing
we are all complaining about (the fact that it is not Opt-In).  It is
discouraging that they try to clear up misconceptions about the new
feature without really addressing our problem with it.  Just mearly
saying that the feature was never 100% private is not a good enough
reason to ignore our opinion!  We knew it was never 100% private, but
we still valued the relative obscurity.  We gave logical and concrete
reasons why it should be changed VERY SOON, so why can't they give us
reasons why they won't?
