gmail's offline mode is pretty nice, keeping in sync with your online
inbox and outbox.
but reader's offline mode is...marginal.
1) it re-downloads 2000 items *every* time, instead of just
downloading the new and unread items. there's no point in downloading
items that have already been downloaded once. a smarter syncing
mechanism is required here.
2) when i switch to offline mode from online, some of my read items
magically become unread again! that's what you call a bug, i'm pretty
sure.
3) items marked as read in offline mode don't get marked as read when
coming back online. (at least it was like this last time i tried)
4) no "mark all as read" in offline mode! wtf.
5) no pictures in offline mode! wtf. sorry, but i like pictures. the
item's author put them there for a reason.
6) no way to limit the number of items downloaded, or the time span
over which the feeds are synced. even gmail is pretty poor on this
point. it would be nice to choose "1 day" "2 days" ..."1 week" etc.
