This screensaver is the answer to a long-awaited deficiency in windows-bundled software. It's awesome! Can we please get previous and next scrolling with the right and left keyboard arrows That would make it perfect.
I love the screensaver! Some suggestions: - As already mentioned, auto rotate based on EXIF would be great - I\\47m not sure how the choice of zoom-center is made right now, but EXIF could be handy in determining the zoom-center (where the user set the focus, for example.) Image processing can also be used to determine the focused area (most contrast) and use that as a zoom-center. - Really cool!
...Google rocks...but PLEASE give us possibility of alphabetical order for the screensaver pictures to use it as a good ! kenburns slideshow for holiday pictures...or give picasa the kenburns feature for the slideshow !...it´s so annoying that there is NO instant kenburns viewer for windows available...THANKS A LOT
Love this screensaver! Completely agree with previous posters - ability to remove text (filename and nickname) please, as well as selection of random photos from selected feeds or directories. Also, I'd love to be able to view files from specific public picasaweb folders - why do I have to log in The reason for this is I'd like my kids PC to access my public photos (of them!) but I don't want to have to put my login details into their screensaver setting - I should be able to just tell them to point their screensaver to picasaweb.google.com/publicfoldername (or indeed have multiple public folders viewable in the screensaver). Great product!
- Add ability to go to sleep mode after a set time, to conserve bandwidth usage Maybe coincide with monitor going to sleep
Linux Support: Ability to scan specific folders/ sub-folders, web albums/ rss feeds (picasa/otherwise) - All these in Linux would be wonderful!!
The Google Screensaver is excellent, works well with 2 monitors and the collage is really cool. What writing it for Windows Media Center The collage would really be a nice effect on a bigger screen and would make a good show in the living room with music in the background - Google Screensaver Media Center Edition!!
Suggestion for Screensaver: -- With the Local Folder selection, include the option to add a wildcard for specific files.
-Add an option to keep each picture on the screen for a lot longer
- Auto rotate pictures based on Exif camera orientation information.
- Add a spot to disable the text on the screen (File name and Nickname when using Picasa Web). This is quite disturbing when we try to show this after school hours on all the TVs in the building. - I second the above request. An option to not display the image name and the photographers name. There are some very talented photographers out there with absolutely no talent for naming their photographs. Seeing DCS0037.jpg overlayed on top of a gorgeous image of a sunset is not particularly appealing. Make it go away! - Random function! Add options to display photos in random order, otherwise the screen saver is always exactly the same and therefore quite boring...
- Add the screensaver to Google Pack also for all other languages!!!
- Have an option to alternate feeds, such as having the option to have one feed playing through the entire screensaver, until another time when the screensaver is started when it will display another feed. It sounds confusing, but it's a feature I have been looking for for a while now. - Give the option to display the images sequentially, randomly, and predefined sequence by image name. When displaying sequentially, even predefined, give the option to start from the beginning each time, OR from the last image displayed. Currently, the only option is to display randomly.
When you select a folder for pictures, make it select all the subfolders beneath it. Right now it only selects the folders that do not contain subfolders. Very annoying.
- When a photo is edited or removed from the feed, make it so that the screensaver updates accordingly.
- When displaying local pictures, display file name (upper-left, lower-left) and be able to turn this off.
-- Do you have plans to read video rss too in the future so that news broadcasts can be played automatically I know microsoft has a video screensaver, but it can\\47t read feeds. - Add the option to display each photo for a longer period of time than 9.3 seconds. This must be so easy to change. Google screensaver would be an awesome tool for using a living room HDTV as a large virtual picture frame, displaying beautiful pieces of art and photos. While displaying a picture for a short period of time is fine for photos, it would be nice to have the option to leave a photo on the screen for 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 20 minutes, 1 hour. In this way, you could have a Monet in your living room for a time and admire it as a real piece of art before it changed to the next piece of artwork. Art changing every 9.3 seconds is too busy and distracting and does not leave enough time to admire the piece.
