Subject: German cities with italian placenames
I'm from Germany. When I search for addresses in cities like Frankfurt
or München (Munich) Google Maps finds the the address but it will show
the italian name of the city in the info bubble and in the info frame
on the left side of the map.
Only happens if I search for: street name ##, city
If I search the city name alone, it will show the german name the way
it's supposed to be.

For example:

Search string: München
Result: Munich, Germany

Search string: Rosenstr. 1, München
Result: Rosenstr. 1, 80331 Monaco di Baviera, Germany

Search string: Frankfurt
Result: Frankfurt, Germany

Search string: Gartenstr.1, Frankfurt
Result: Gartenstraße 1, 60594 Francoforte sul Meno, Germany

That whole thing started a few weeks ago. I hoped Google would fix it.
But no luck yet. ;-)

Hi HarryL,

I tried your search strings on this version of Google Maps and the
geocoding was correct:  http://maps.google.de/

However I did replicate the issue on maps.google.com. I've reported
this to our team for investigation.

Thanks for alerting me to this problem.
