We just pushed out a new version of the API, and Directions are
finally here!

Changed issues:
  * Issue 1421: Feature Request: Add a Directions class to API v3

Other noticeable changes:

Do you have an example demonstrating how to extract the poly
coordinates ?

Is it legal to capture & cache the results for future use ?

Can a handle to the poly be acquired ?

Can the poly style (color / alpha / width) be changed ?

We haven't yet exposed the poly features you've listed, though we know
they're important.  Please file feature requests for them.

See section 10.3 of the Terms for information on caching content.

It appears to be OK if "improving performance" means eliminating
redundant calls to find identical directions.  Are Static Maps
considered to be part of "The Service" ?

I would REALLY like to request a scenic route like California's
Pacific Coast Highway.  The service always chooses I-5.
