How do I use the api to retrieve an image?

I have the following url:

$pic = http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/streetview?size=800x600&location=bigben,westminster,london&sensor=false

Using php I want $pic to be filename.jpg

How do I download the street view picture?

Why do you want to do this?

I dont think its permitted as per the Terms of Service.

That's a shame - I want to use the pictures as (low resolution) backgrounds for an interactive game. I suppose it's privacy law or copyright? Will read the Terms and conditions to check it out

Where can I find the terms and conditions?

My app is educational / research so maybe it's ok with Google?
