When I was using it yesterday, this was done through an interface next
to each destination on the left hand side of the maps, but the
interface changed and now I can't figure out how to do it.
Also it used to list the time driving between individual destinations.

D'oh. Is there a way for users to revert to a previous version of the
interface? I'm driving from Orlando to Las Vegas starting this Sunday
and I wanted to use the maps to plot each leg of the journey.

Apparently you aren't familiar with the Google way of doing things. They are famous for putting beta/test versions out for the public to use. In fact, many of their applications are STILL in beta!

YES, I am familier with the way Google works. They usually do not
*remove* functionality though, this is why I am upset. NWT, you are
not helping things, omho.

I am in the middle of planning 2 roadtrips, and being able to see the
time/distance between stops is a very important feature, for me at
least. I'm sure I am not the only one that uses this functionality.
Also, the stop reordering I am also use quite a bit, as apparently
alot of other people use.
Why would Google remove this functionality, and who do we contact to
get it back in place? How do we find Neal Kanodias email? He is the
one that updated the Google LatLong blog with this new and "improved"
UI.
Quoting from Google LatLong: "With the new look for Google Maps, you
can do all of the same things, but without the extra clutter. "
Can do all of the same things? Yea. Sure. Just pissing people off.
"Just be patient. ... Google is in the middle of changing the
interface. Obviously they
still have work to do. Just be patient. Calm down. ... "

You are FAR to quick to jump to conclusions. Why can't you be patient? Since you can't, stop using Google Maps. That way, we won't have to see you whine anymore.

I hate to say this, but I'm having to use Yahoo Local Maps right now
to plan my routes. They've actually added the feature that allows you
to reorder your trip by draging and dropping. The maps are not as
detailed and the times are a little off, but at least I can get the
job done.

I love Google and the way they are empowering us to be more efficient
and are providing the light for the Information Age.
I have come to depend on Google Maps for planning my weekends. But
today I have wasted my whole Saturday trying to do something that used
to be intuitive: reordering destinations for the most efficient route.
Eventually, too late, Hez provided the &view=text parameter which
seems to be the only work-around. Much of the wasted time was caused
by reading NWT's confrontational nonsense and the reactions it
provoked.
So Google moderators, please help keep the discussion on track.
Please add a "Mr. Poopy Pants" item to the 'more options' menu. This
would "comments by:" and "responses to" those like NWT to be hidden
from users who just need some help.
Thank you for your patience and for listening.

1) Google is normally excellent at design focused on user's goals.
2) A main principle of excellent design focused on user's goals is
that you do not surprise them by removing features.
That's why everyone's confused/upset, that's all. We all have high
expectations for Google's free products because Google asked us to.
(And separately, just putting in my 2 cents to Google that removing
the "reorder destinations" functionality was a very unprofessional
move.)
