  Hi, &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I had a similar issue recently. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I decided that when adding a marker, I would add a custom &#39;category&#39; &lt;br&gt; piece to the marker object &#39;marker.category&#39; which allows me to figure &lt;br&gt; out which to show or hide. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I have loops which go through all the markers asking &amp;quot;are you of the &lt;br&gt; selected category&amp;quot; and if it is, then it gets hidden.

  The default icon is the default icon.   You can pass the dots to your map as a set of tiles, and display them as &lt;br&gt; a GTileLayerOverlay(). You can either use static tile images or create &lt;br&gt; the tiles dynamically in your server using a graphic library like gd or &lt;br&gt; ImageMagik after searching your database for locations that are on that &lt;br&gt; tile or just off the edge, so that the resulting dot overlaps the tile.

  I wonder if you can get information from google maps of the &lt;br&gt; geographical location of comercial sectors, for example, pizzerias in &lt;br&gt; Paris and get the geographic location of them all, and thus eg. gas &lt;br&gt; stations, restaurants, supermarkets etc. ... Thank you.
