Hi,
"Elevated" is used to mark an elevated area or elevated point. It can
be used when the area or point has a significance due to it's
elevation, but cannot be represented by "Peak / Mountain / Hill". It
can also be used to mark summits on a mountain. Hope that answers your
question.

Ok, so is it more for natural features? At least to me, the name seems
to suggests that it's for man-made features ("elevated walkway",
"elevated road", and so on sound more appropriate than "elevated
summit", "elevated land", "elevated area", "elevated place"...)

Exactly :) It is to be used for such natural features (it might even
be a man-made elevated area having some significance). However,
'Elevated Walkway' & 'Roads' can be marked using the Flyover options &
attributes.
