Normally clicking with the right mouse button on the road segment and selecting "Find near this point" would give you a balloon which you can select to edit the road and change that road segment.
You can also use he Browse feature (that is the first square box in the upper left corner of your edit window just below "Find...") and select in the left pane "Line features" and category road. A red dot will appear in the middle of the road segment you want to edit.
The last method is the multi-segment edit tool (the third square box below "Find...") and select the beginning and end of the total road you want to edit.
