Install Picasa 2.7 on RHEL 5 as root; but cannot run under normal user account

I've installed Picasa 2.7 on RHEL 5, following the install
instructions. I can run it when logged in as root, but it does not
run when I try to run it as my normal user account. It seems like
this is a permissions issue, but not sure.

Any ideas on what to check (or modify) so that normal accounts can run
Picasa?
