Hi developers,

This is the forum for discussing the Latitude API, which is being
launched in Labs today.

We will be posting a more detailed announcement shortly on the Google
Code Blog with more details.

To get started, check out the documentation at
http://code.google.com/apis/latitude/overview.html, and feel free to
post here with any problems or questions.

We look forward to working with you as you to build your applications
with the Latitude API.

Cheers,

-Josh

Great! Can we use this API in Android apps?

Latitude appears to have partial support for Google Apps accounts
right now. My Android syncs to my Google Apps account and the mobile
Latitude service seems to work just fine with that account. The
problem is that the desktop interface to Latitude wouldn't let you log
in with a Google Apps account, so you can't view your location
history, try out the new Latitude add-on apps, and so on.

I am frustrated by the same thing Drew describes - my Android device
is signed into Latitude using my Google Apps address (my main account)
but I can't access the same friends list or use Latitude on my desktop
computer because I can only sign into Latitude using my gmail account.
Are there any plans to allow Apps-account logins on the web side?

Thanks,
Dave

It is possible to access the Latitude desktop interface using your
Latitude Google Apps Account. Read the instructions in the Help
Center:

Cheers,
Ana
