Hi all,
I'm using jaunty 9.04 on an acer extensa 5630EZ. Picasa version is
3.0.5.74402. Iphone 3G, OS 3.0
problem is:
when connecting the iphone I get the popup of camera detected. However
I can't pick any software to be used automatically to import the
photos. Next, I run Picasa. press import. I get two devices: one is
"Apple iphone 3G (ptp mode)@usb:" the second is "Apple iphone 3G (ptp
mode)@usb:00". choosing either of them doesn't import any pictures.

any hints ?

I have the same problem. I was able to see the iPhone as a usb file
device (outside of Picas) and manually copy the DCIM folder over...
once it was in my file directory that way, Picasa found the pictures.
(fedora 11, iPhone 3G)

Is this the problem where the camera presents a PTP interface, but
Nautilus grabs it. (so you can browse the camera) And then no other
software can access the PTP interface because it's in use.

Can you access the camera from another photo app? Try telling Nautilus
to unmount the camera.

BINGO,
that did it, thanks a lot. And now for another question:

How do I make picasa pop up when I connect the iphone ? currently when
the window comes up there is no software to select. the type is
declared as "digital photos" and the drop down menu is greyed out and
can't be pulled down. It states "No application found"

thanks again,
