Has anybody had any luck playing AVI files in Picasa. I can now see
the still shots of the AVI files themselves but they still do not
play. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

for a report of a user that got it to work. But
even installing the right codecs, we haven't had it work well
here in the lab; there are a few bugs in wine that
need to be worked out. And then there's that pesky codec
licensing issue...
