It sounds like some people are having luck getting picasa to show .avi
files. They don't show up on my system for some reason. Do you have any
idea what I might do to get that working? They are listed under file
types, but don't display when I import or list files in a directory.

I'm running Ubuntu (Edgy release) and have a Cannon Powershot A310.

Thanks

Hi
I think, If you can't play yours AVI files in Ubuntu - you can't play
in Picasa.
Install some meltimedia support for Ubuntu by easybuntu (I don't
remember exactly url for that but Google helps you find it).

Good luck

I can play the avi files without issue in Totem. Is there some other
application that I need to have working in order for picasa to be able
to view the files? Is there something I need to setup in my wine
environment?

Q: Hey! I have a bunch of movie files that Picasa skipped.

Picasa for Linux does not support movie files. The program will not
attempt to find or play movies. (Note: under Options > File Types, the
Movies checkbox is visible but not functional.)
