can i integrate google seach in desktop application

dear members,
I am using google SE for backend search in my desktop application.
can i use any of google api for this search. right now, i am using the
google dll for download the search result page and then doing
extraction over it. Is there any way to use GOOGLE API's and get the
entire set of Google search Result directly for my desktop
application.
Please tell me if that could be done.
