Historic and past prices

Hey,

I was wondering if there is anyway to get the actual prices for a
stock at daily or even more often intervals since a starting date? I
would like to write a stock performance analysis program, and i would
require previous data, in as much detail as i can. If this can't be
done through the Google Finance API, is there any other api out there
that could do this?

Alex -

The easiest way to do this is by using Google Spreadsheets. There is
a function 'GoogleFinance()' that gives you free access to Google
Finance data within your spreadsheet. Full document on this feature

To interject a tangential question into this thread if I may, AFAIK there is no way to retrieve equity-options quotes into a Google spreadsheet?
