Folders lumped together

I uploaded my folders but it seems to have lumped them all together in a
label called Uploaded 11-Jun-2013. Any ideas how to get that broken down
into proper folders?

I'm repairing some horrible damage done by Google Vault and their
rediculous retention policy behavior.
I have a lot of e-mail to upload.
I've noticed that the counts that show up in Google Email Uploader and
consistently off by 1, is this known? Is this okay? Why does this happen?

Well for starters....the web client sync limits does not apply for Apple
Mail. You can confirm this by checking Google's Official Documentation for

Hi, does anyone have a creative solution to this please? I have migrated
some of my legacy emails to Apple Mail 4.6. Google have advised NOT to use

Hi, A lot of my emails are NOT uploading from a very small test sample of
my data (before I do the live one). Has anyone got any tips please? I am
uploading from Apple Mail to Google Apps.

I tried to upload only 490 msgs from 7 folders. The small folders loaded
fine, but only a small amount of data in the remaining 3 folders loaded

Yes, once you open the uploader, just check the folders you want to upload (click the arrow next to Apple Mail to view all your folders), I only did one at a time.

I had the same problem as well, its super frustrating. 20K+ emails that
were all organized on mac mail. So I basically started taking the time to
upload each folder 1 by 1, using the uploader to set the label ("assign

Mac OS X supports syncing Google contacts to Mac OS X.

30,000 Emails to Transfer

I have two users that are Apple Mail and this tool could be our life saver.
However, I am concern about the amount of emails we have to transfer which
is up to 30,000 emails per account. How well does this tool preform with

I'm transferring my mail from Entrourage 2008 on OS X 10.5.8 to Google Apps
mail using the Google e-mail uploader. From what I can see when I drag a
folder that contains subfolders from Entourage to the Desktop, the mbox
file does not include the subfolders and messages within those subfolders.

Unfortunately, the status of this project hasn't changed since my comment
on this thread earlier this year.

Since this is an open source project, any Mac developer is welcome to
investigate the changes in Mail.app's folder structure and submit a patch
for this application. Otherwise, I do not expect have a chance to do that

Thanks for creating the Gmail uploader for Mac!
Are you aware of the problem with folder names being converted to numbered
labels in Gmail? (Discussed in a couple of threads here.)
If so, do you have any plans to fix it, or should I look into other
solutions (none of which seem very promising).

I just want to chime in and say I've encountered the same problem with the
folder names being converted to numbered labels.
Does anyone have a workaround, aside from using drag n' drop? I've
encountered problems with that in the past when doing so with large numbers
of messages, and I'd prefer a simpler solution for my users.

Scanning folders stops before end

I have been slowly uploading my emails but now the initial scanning folders
seems to stop before the end. I am wondering if some local files have got
corrupted, e.g. application settings for the uploader application. If this
might be the cause then is there a way to clear it out. There is some
discussion on the web where the files exist for Windows but not for OSX

I was having a similar issue and, just figured it out... I have 2-step
verification on, which hadn't occurred to me was going to make the app fail
authentication, bc it would be unrecognized by gmail.
to fix this log in to google apps --> go
to [link] --> Authorizing

I've use a shared hosting service for the past 10+ years and recently
started experiencing some issues with their email services. Additionally,
the webmail clients were less that user friendly. I decided to make the
switch the Google Apps just for gmail. I removed my old account (w/old
host's imap settings) from my iPhone and disabled the account on mac mail

The server discards duplicate messages. The uploader still must send the
messages, however, so sending duplicates can be slow.

You can run the uploader on multiple user laptops.

The server limits the speed of uploading to each user account, so running
multiple copies will not speed up sending messages for a single user
account.

your Mac machine. I agree with the suggestion of iTunes sync and file

Yeah, that's right - there are numbered folders buried deep in the file
structure - that's probably what the uploader is picking up. Thankfully, I
only uploaded two mailboxes so it wasn't too much trouble to delete them.

The program is designed to UPLOAD emails from Mail (or any other compatible
program) into Gmail.
If you want to do the reverse, i.e. set up a Gmail account on Mail, then it
