Hi Phil,

Thank you for your response and help. However, my Google Earth map
still does not load after I replaced all of the quotes. When you said
that it worked for you, were you entering the KML into a Google Docs
spreadsheet (specifically, the "Custom KML" section") and linking to
it from Google Earth? Because that's what I'm trying to do... Thanks!

Hi GBI,

It looks as if the speech marks are incorrect where you are adding the
attribution, e.g. x="1"....Sometimes, people can put two single
"apostrophes" instead of one single placemark. On my keyboard (I am
using windows), I need to use shift + 2.

Hi Stan,

Sounds like a great way to geographically visualize your membership
numbers.

One possibility you could use, is to display the density using
polygons - for example, the taller it (the column) is, the more
members. This is a method that has been used before to illustrate

Zip Code Density

I work for a non-profit in Seattle and am trying to display our
membership by zip code. I can geocode the addresses and then plot them
on Google maps or create a kml file and import to Google Earth but I
can't figure a way to display just the density of the number of
members by zip code. I think I found the answer by using Google Earth

I had some problems doing the same thing. There were a few things that
had gone awry in my case. The first was that I translated the whole
document into Excel, so I could work locally to create the kml and
upload it. Excel had some problems with character encoding on some of
the imported text and put in extra quotations that caused problems.

High definition 3d model of cityscape scene.
City contains 9 high detailed blocks with over 44 high detailed
skyscrapers and buildings.
Scene was done with 3Ds Max version 8.

Is there any schedule for updated imagery over SW Montana,
specifically Beaverhead County? Much of my area of interest is cloud
covered. I've seen imagery other than GE of this same area that is not
black and white and is not cloud covered.

I had my college students watch a DVD of Rebecca Moore's presentation
on "Earth Outreach" made at the 2008 Bioneers San Francisco
Conference. After a lengthy discussion several students composed a
review for extra credit. One of them, written by a junior at the

Assuming that you don't want the placemark balloons to open while your
tour is being played, try creating a path along the route of the tour
and put it in a folder exterior to the one with the placemarks. If you
'play' a path, GE will just travel along its line.
