The release candidate for the latest and greatest version of Firefox
was made available for download recently and when I installed it, the
GE plugin quit working! Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi aestrada,

Yes, this is a known issue. Some people can git it working with FF
3.0. This is something we're working on.

Any word on this? The last I saw was "expect something in the next
couple of days", as of yesterday. Any chance we'll see an update on
Friday, or will it drift into next week?

I've got some new plug-in toys I want to release, but I'm kind of
waiting on this update...

Hi mickmel,

No update. I'm not sure where you saw that. We're working on it, it is
high priority for us, but we haven't announced a timeline for it.

Mano,

Peter Birch mentioned it in a comment in the Google Earth Blog:

http://www.gearthblog.com/blog/archives/2008/06/roundup_firefox_3_and_earth_plugin.html#comments

He said "We're hard at work on a fix for Firefox 3. Expect something
in the next couple of days", and that was two days ago. I'm hoping
for something early next week at this point.

Ah. I see. Well, we are hard at work on it. I can't commit to a
particular date, but it should be soon.

As of today, you should be able to run GE in Firefox 3 (still Windows-
only). You won't need to update your binary.

Please give it a try, and post on this forum if you run into
problems.

Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,

Great news! Are there any other changes/fixes to this "update"?

I'm using the IE Tab plugin and running GE plug in Infernet Exploder
engine on FF window.

Excellent news, works fine on my site. Hope the z-index problem will
be sorted soon too.
