How to find & highlight nearest POINT PLACEMARK(S) from a clicked point on GE Plugin?

Hello Everybody,

I am trying to create a GE Plugin application where I have to find &
highlight the nearest point placemark(s). These point placemarks
(lat,long) are added dynamically to the plugin through ajax from a MS
Acess DB. We can get the (lat,long) from the user clicked point, but
how to proceed further, i.e., is there a way to find the nearest point

Hi,

I hope so - as I say I really like this solution. If only everyone
used FF..

My test is a simple as it comes I think. A small style sheet with
stuff for the map3d div and a standard, unaltered, jquery-ui css. (Any
changes I make in my Live enviroment I do as !importants in my own css

I believe you will have to parse the kml and change the values you
want before displaying it.

Im sure its solvable, and that it will be easy once we've figured it
out :-)

On my site, the dialogs dont lose the right hand side in IE. So not
sure what's causing that. It might be an inherited style (eg border/
padding/margin affecting where the iframe ends), but I took quick look

In addition to what Nymor said, now when you install Google Earth the
plugin is installed by default. So as long as the user has the
current version of Google Earth (which, really, they should
considering all the speed improvements they made), the plugin will be
available. Now if you want them to not even have to install Google

I have a problem where multiple markers are at the same latitude and
longitude. I'd like to be able to programmatically tell GE which one
to show as the top one. Is there any way to do this, either
straightforward or a bit of a kludge? I've already tried things like
hiding/showing the other marker and removing/adding either the desired

Also - as and aside - there are 2 other calls that might come in handy
before you create the GE instance as they may help you decide what to
do if the user doesn't have the plugin installed or whether or not it
is supported on their OS/broswer.

KmlMouseEvent getTarget() returns only topmost KmlPlacemark

I have a KmlMouseEvent that is triggered over several layered
KmlPlacemarks. I notice getTarget() only returns the top most
placemark.

Does any one know of a way I can enumerate over all the placemarks/
features under a point? perhaps it's is possible to do using then
event object.
