As of today, you should be able to run the GE plugin in Firefox 3
(still Windows-only). You won't need to update your binary if you
already have the plugin installed.
Please give it a try, and post on this forum if you run into
problems.

The GE plugin does not work for me when using Firefox3, however the
same code does work when using the IE Tab plugin for Firefox3. The
plugin initially loads and then the screen goes blank. The only error
message I got was: ge.createHTMLStringBalloon is not a function.
José and Doug, would you mind please posting the list of installed
extensions you have running? It's found under "Tools" menu -> "Add-
Ons" -> "Extensions".
Also, if possible, could you post the URLs of the pages you're
testing?
I've noticed one problem. Was running the Monster Milktruck game.
Paused for a few seconds and one of those "hurry up" messages came on
in the placemark bubble - only the text is not appearing within the
bubble - it's above it. See screenshot in the Files section called
"milkbug.jpg":

I only have Google Earth Plugin 4.3.9477.6413 and IE Tab 1.5.20080310
extensions installed. I don't typically use Firefox, so it is a recent
pristine installation that I am simply using to test code. I installed
IE Tab only after the plugin failed, to see if the plug in would work
on Firefox at all, which it does with the IE engine.
I run the HTML locally and load the KML from online. Apparently the
KML cannot be local, which is inconvenient, but not painfully so. I'll
upload my HTML and post it later.
The error I mentioned doesn't show up right away, as if the plugin is
flying to that location and attempting to show the bubble before the
error occurs, which is how my page works. However, except for the
initial loading message, I don't get anything but a blank page during
that time.

I too cannot get the plug-in to work in Firefox 3.
Right now I am using GE to plot some placemarks on the terrain. At
first I thought my code was wrong but then I checked in other
browsers. IE6/7 and Fx2 all work great. I then tried creating a blank
profile in Fx3 so that I don't have any extensions installed, GE still
didn't load.

Since the last update, the GE plugin loads correctly and shows a globe
when using Firefox3, but it will not open a balloon. Previously, the
plugin didn't work at all, but the error message is the same as
before: ge.createHTMLStringBalloon is not a function.

I restructured my code after adding some functionality, and now the
globe loads in Firefox3, but the view does not move to the point where
an attempt to open a balloon causes an error, as before. Now, there is
no movement at all, and there is no error. Works fine in IE, and
Firefox3 IE Tab.

I got it function when I used Firefox 2 but now with Firefox 3 it
isn't functioning and I have tried several times to download and
install. It keeps saying that I should download the plug-in. :-(
I deleted it from controlpanel for starting from scratch but I can't
delete the folder called "google" with the update under C: no matter
what I do - can't this be done?
