How google earth plugin is updated?

Hi,

How is the Google Earth plugin updated? I never seen any "new version
available, please update" message like with other programs. Is there
some automatic update system?

If yes, how frequent are those updates?
Is Google Earth standalone program affected too?

I believe the google earth plugin is simple a wrapper around the
google earth program. As such, there's not really much there to
update. When you update google earth, you'd see those changes the
next time you run the plugin. And now with 5.1, they're including the
plugin along with google earth, so it looks like it will be handled
completely by google earth.
