Polygon placemark click event issue

I'm having an issue where the click event tied to polygon placemarks
only fires if the placemark is clicked towards the edges of it, not in
the middle of it. Is there any way the click event can fire when
clicking anywhere within the polygon?

That's a known bug, currently filed at:
