Future of Earth API

Hello everyone,

I am working on several websites with the Google Earth API. More and more visitors switching from Desktop to Mobile Devices (Smartphone, Tablets). So we losing more and more visitors because the Earth API dont work on the Mobile Devices. 

Do we see a Earth API for mobile devices in the future? Or a version that doesnt need to download as a plugin? Or a version in WebGL? What can we expect in the future of Earth API? Is it worth to invest time with integrating Earth API in other websites - or is it a death end?

What do you think? Maybe one of the Google Support has an answer?!

I would love to find the answer to this question. 

Googler's are not very good at communicating about this subject, because for Google its a just a product that depends on a larger division, so it seems like they don't really have control of their division and hence their future.
