Subject: New and improved Maps/Earth integration with Maps API v2.160
Hi all,

Today we released Maps API version 2.160, which contains a massively
rehauled version of G_SATELLITE_3D_MAP. Major changes include:

- Support for all common map overlay types (markers, polylines,
polygons, ground overlays, screen overlays, GGeoXml).
- Seamless transitions when switching between 2D and 3D map types.

Currently known bugs with the new release include:

- On Mac OS X, there is noticeable lag while panning and zooming and
while opening placemark balloons (info windows).

Note that the usage of G_SATELLITE_3D_MAP and GMap2.getEarthInstance
have not changed.

For sample code, see:

http://earth-api-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/demos/mapsapi/

A blog post will be up on the Google Geo Developers Blog shortly.

Thanks,
Roman
