Cannot find most emails

I recently installed Google Desktop on my laptop and my wife's. My
index is stuck at 89% complete and my wife's at 66%.
On both machines emails cannot be found except for a few that are
several years old.

Multiple HDDs in a machine

My PC has two HDDs, yet Google Desktop could only find the primary one
automatically. Only when I added my secondary HDD manually, I was able
to find my files stored on that drive.
I suppose it's a bug, because it says clearly " All fixed drives are
indexed by default. "

Quick search box no longer comes up when running GoogleDesktop.exe

Howdy,
The quick search box no longer comes up when running
GoogleDesktop.exe. As this is also what is run for the Ctrl+Ctrl hook,
it means I can no longer quickly bring up the quicksearch box.
What happens instead is the cursor briefly (ie, less than 250ms,

I recently had an issue where Google Desktop would pop up an error
message saying "Google Desktop did not start successfully". It would
run perfectly fine even with the error message displayed. I

"Don't search these items" fails for email

Adding entries to the setting "Preferences\Desktop Search\Search
Locations\Don't search these items" does not seem to prevent Google
Desktop from indexing emails stored in the specified locations (as it
does for other documents).

Google Desktop won't work correctly with Firefox 3.6 or later

Starting with Firefox 3.6, components added to the Firefox component
directory won't be read into or used by Firefox. Google Desktop
currently adds it's browser history functionality to Firefox by

Lotus Notes 8.0.2 not properly indexed

Hi,
while running GDS for several months successfully for my Lotus Notes I
was forced lately to upgrade from Lotus Notes 6.5 to 8.0.2. Since then
all my new emails are no longer been indexed.
What I have done so far:
