With Google desktop gadgets, the gadgets are either always on top
(when the option is checked) or the minimize when you hit the go to
desktop short cut (Windows key + D) the dissapear.

I would like Google desktop gadgets to behave like Windows 7 gadgets -
i.e. remain on top of the desktop even when you hit the desktop short

Google Desktop/Opera 10.10 ?

search in a directory

I like indexed search. I use Mac (spotlight) and Windows (Google
Desktop search, and MS desktop search ).

However, there is one thing which is inconvenient when I use Google
Desktop search. ( I gave up MS's. )

As a programmer, I have different versions of same project on my HDD.
Often I would like to limit where the search will take place. Then it

I use Google desktop a long time. The program is indexing files but
not directories . Can you add to the indexing directories too so I can
search them and not only the files in them?

outlook archive files

I am using Outlook 2003 SP3, Google Desktop version is 5.9.0909.30391

I usually keep moving mails from inbox to various folders and archive
them on a weekly basis. The behavior I see is that once a mail is

I know I sound like a broken record but I want to echo the sentiment
of the others requesting a Task List for Google Desktop Sidebar that
syncs with GMail Task List.

I'm trying to migrate away from MSFT and a common Task List across my
mobile and stationary access points would help a lot.

Firefox Smart Keywords for Quick Search

On a MS Win XP Pro. I've been using Copernic Desktop Search for 2
months.

(it's free for non-commercial home use).

It supports ODF by default and I'd say it works very well.

When I do a search in Outlook, and type something in wrong (for
example, our distributor "A&T") it bringt's up 5,000 instances of the
letters 'a' and 't'. Obviously this takes a while for all those to
load in the Results box, if we could hit cancel I think it would go a
long ways to making this tool more productive.
