It appears the add members directly has been removed from google
groups. How do I go about adding the member directly as the
instructions in the administration screen mention I should?
From the administration screen:
Activity notifications
Email notifications of issue tracker activity will automatically be
sent to the following email address.
Notifications will be sent from: upper...@googlecode.com
You may need to add this address as an allowed poster to your mailing
list.
If using Google Groups, add the address directly with no email
delivery.

This is my way for using Google Group to create a notification mail or
mail list in Google Code:
- Google Code: Administer -> Source -> Activity notifications. Enter a
email that it is a member in Google Group
- The email: Create a filter that: From: em...@googlecode.com of the
project, To: the email, Forward to: email@googlegroups.com.
Done!

Has anything been done about this????? These posts are very old and I can't find anything current. Almost everytime I add a new member they either do not get an email to confirm or it gets lost in their spam folder. I end up adding them multiple times which is a royal pain. WE are getting the new Googlegroups (whether we like it or not) but we can't this problem fixed even though it's been a problem for YEARS, Is there a Googlegroups support team or isn't there???>?
