Same here...

Screenshot:
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr232/gkthornton/ChromeError.jpg

Actual Error message:

     Chrome.exe - Application Error
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005).
Click on OK to terminate the application."

When you click OK, Chrome displays the "Aw, Snap" page.   Refreshing
the page or typing other URLs result in the same error.

I'm using XP SP2, fully patched.  Let me know if you need further
details.  Thx.

Confirmed as an Endpoint-related bug; installation has failed on every
machine that I've tried which has EndPoint installed, and succeeded as
soon as I tried a non-EP machine. Well done on the quick diagnosis,
guys!

Hopefully a patch will be forthcoming soonish - as Johnny said, in an
office environment I don't really have any control on what virus
software I have installed!

I guess we wait for Google to fix the issue.  Hard to believe they
didn't test it against SEP.

Which is why I don't use Symantec products at home anymore. ;-) (That,
and I get free anti-virus software from my ISP.) Unfortunately, the IT
group at work is switching all the computers from McAfee to Symantec.

I really don't feel comfortable using my PC without virus protection,
but I just wanted to know what the problem was. Now I have two
options: Not using Chrome or getting a new antivirus... I think, I'm
not going to use Chrome for now, but I sure hope, Google will be able
to build a stable and compatible release soon.

Is there a way to disable SEP from scanning chrome.exe?  I wonder if
that could be a temporary fix.  But then... It could also open a
loophole in security that I'm sure many of us don't want to see.

Same thing as everyone else.  I'm running Vista with Symantec Endpoint
Protection 11.0.2010.25.  I've tried disabling it and I get the same
message.  I'm unable to find anything in the Symantec logs indicating
its fussing over it.
