Why is "color: red;" dimmed?

It's hard to say without having the full HTML/CSS at hand. In general, inherited and implicit properties are marked this way, even though I cannot see any signs of these in the screenshot. Publicly available code (perhaps, reduced to just reproduce the condition) would be useful in this case.
