cabrera, RTM can be that simple ToDo llist, just don't use all the
bells and whistles.
As neat-o and full of features as RTM is, it's not as integrated as
would be an app made directly by Goog.
Personally I hope that when the G-Peepul make their task mgt. app it
will allow for both the simple use you're asking for all the way up to
project management. GTD-friendly, I hope.
I'm willing to wait, and it's good to know they're working on it.

Yep!
TODO / Task Lists (preferably with task breakdown - e.g. one big task
is made of other smaller tasks) will erase microsoft office from my
lexicon...
now with the new Google Calander Sync, it will even sync to my phone
(too bad there isn't a google calendar - phone sync from google that
supports ALL phones...)

I can now sync Google Calendar with Outlook and Thunderbird meaning I
have one unified calendar. Of course it's useless because most of my
calendar entries are reminders of deadlines to complete tasks, and you
can't mark an event as complete!

I don't understand why tasks are such a low priority (or implemented
in a rudimentary fashion) in so many calendar/PIM products. Doesn't
anyone have anything they need to do?
Is anyone home? Is anyone at Google listening? There are many
interesting features that Google seems to be exploring, but it seems
to me that most of them pale in significance compared to the need (and
oft requested) for even a simple task/to-do list.
Hoping to see a blue "G" show up in this thread before I retire!

I'd rather see a ToDo List integrated with Gmail instead of Google
Calendar. It would be more likely to have the features I'd want most
if the Gmail team developed it. In the meantime, I'm completely
content with RTM. Their new Gmail Firefox plugin is solid and far
superior to any initial release Google might offer (see the Outlook
Calendar Sync for an example). They even added a 3rd member to the
team so imagine how much more they will be able to implement! We all
love Google but I for one would love to see a wave of Alpha testers
before they release it to the masses for perpetual beta testing ;)

It would be great to have a google made to do manager, and integrates
with all the google parts like calendar, gmail, docs and sites. I use
RTM for now, but when google comes with its own to do manager I will
use that one for sure! In this to do manager I would love to see
hierarchy in the tasks, so I can divide a task in smaller ones.
I would be happy just to have a to-do / task list that I can share.
Sounds silly, but in my real life I'd like to have an online grocery
list, that both hubby and I can view and add to, and who ever is going
can print it. I'd like this to be where my household calendar is.
I'd also like to just make a list of what I need to get done over a
weekend, or in general around the house....

Yes - I agree completely. Does Google actually read these threads?
Seems like there are hundreds of request for this exact same thing.
Why don't they add it?

Google are you there? ...Do you even care?
...sounds like a great song title doesn't it ;-)
I agree with "Bertier" all the way back to Sep 12 2007, 3:12 pm (A
time tracker addition would be great to, BUT let's just start with the
to-do-list for now!)
I also read somewhere in here in this petition topic that 'Google is
passionate about to-do-lists itself' or something else of that nature.
But really, come on Google! For crying out loud, Passion - loosely
defined is unswerving desire and relentless pursuit/longing. I'd
really like to know what Google Employees use. Stickies, Post-Its,
wood/stone tablets, nothing-they-just-remember, ...or dare we say
Outlook, or some OTHER third-party app?
Google, don't you think people have enough "To-Dos" to necessitate
getting this DONE already?!
Please! This reflects poorly on the user community in this one aspect
of Google's inability to EVEN give it's users any sort of information
on a topic so frequently requested. Is it "in the works" or "we don't
have time or money to do it, sorry". SOMETHING would be better than
NOTHING!!

Agreed. Even a brief comment showing that this issue has not been
forgotten would be greatly appreciated. Some kind of update on where
the project stands would be even better.
