The Main problem that people aren't getting is that you have to go to
https://www.google.com/accounts/UpdateUserInfo and click on edit next
to "Personal Information" in the upper left hand area of the screen.
Then they have to add the outlook email that all the appointments and
events were sent to or a part of that aren't syncing.
THEN they have to use that email address in the google sync application instead of their gmail account but use their gmail account
password. Thats the key to getting all your outlook events to sync.
This worked for me. But the I have another problem with this.
Unfortunately our company have alternative email addresses. We have
one with the first name and with the first letter in our surname at
the end and then one with our first name "dot" surname. People use
both when sending me mails which is a problem because even if I added
both to my gmail account, I can only log in with one of them in the
Google Calendar Sync. Obviously, if I noticed I got an invitation from
the mail address I didn't log on with I can always log on with the
other one temporary. But still it feels a bit clunky. :(

Is this why on the first go-round, Sync is showing over 1700 events? I
don't think I really have that many events on my calendar. It's been
running for 4 days and isn't finished.

I've done this. I have 3 aliases at work. I've added all of them.
I've synced using all of the address names, and still it only brings
back no meetings. :( I'm using Outlook 2003. Unless someone has
something else, I think this may be hopeless.

That's exactly what I wasn't getting. I tried to figure out what to do
from this section of the FAQ:
----------
I'm using 2-way mode (or 1-way: Outlook to Google Calendar), but some
events in Outlook don't make it into Google Calendar.
If your Microsoft Outlook events aren't being transferred to Google
Calendar, check to see if the email address associated with Google
Calendar is listed as the organizer or a guest of the event. Please
note that it's not currently possible to sync events with Google
Calendar Sync if you're not the organizer nor a guest.
To sync all events between Microsoft Outlook and Google Calendar, the
email address associated with Google Calendar needs to match the email
address associated with Microsoft Outlook. For example, if you're
using [email address] with your Outlook Calendar, enter
[email address] in the Google Calendar Sync Settings window, and then
view your synced events with the Google Calendar associated with your
[email address] email address. If you don't yet have Google Calendar set up with your [email address] email address, just visit the Google
Calendar homepage and click on "Create a new Google Account."
Keep in mind that you can view the events from your [email address]
email address with any Google Calendar you currently have associated
with your other email address. Simply share calendars between the
Google Calendar associated with [email address] and the Google
Calendar associated with your other email address.
---------
but I couldn't figure out what they wanted me to do. Make another
Google account and share its calendar? How would they know that it's
the same as my [email address] address?

Okay, I changed my sync options to use my [email address]
address and my [email address] password, and I can make
it start a Sync. However, it hasn't actually updated anything yet and
it has twice popped up with a "connect to the Internet to use Google
Sync" error. I'll come back and babysit it tomorrow to see if I can
get it to finish the sync.

Just adding my request for support for Windows X64. I'm willing to
Beta if you need. And I can also see how it works when syncing with a
Pocket PC Phone, too.
I've read the posts about Google Calendar not being able to
successfully incorporate MS Outlook calendar events where the user is
not the author/originator of the event. I also read that Google
acknowledged this. Is there any update as to when this might be
incorporated? It seems from the volume of posts that this is a pretty
importnat feature, and I'm wondering if it's been given a higher
priority than other issues, and if there is an expected (even
ballpark) release date.
If this *has* been posted elsewhere, please let me know - I've not
come across it.

UPDATE: uninstalled, reinstalled, kicked off a sync and no errors yet.
In fact, it says it's 99% done after doing 5 out of 692 events. I
think its math is flawed, but I'm happy that it's doing something. : )
[just checked both calendars: events are trickling into them now.]

I have a similar problem to others--not all my appointments sync. I
have multiple email addresses that can show up on meeting
invitations. To complicate things one step further, I have one email
address for meetings that only works within the company. This address
gets used a lot.
I can't add that email address to my Google account, because I can't
verify it. (The email from google accounts just goes into a black
hole, since it's not for external use.)
I went to the accounts page and updated my google account with my work
e-mail address. I then added my work e-mail address in the google
sync application and kept my gmail password. It synced, however no
appointments were added from my work Outlook calendar to my google
calendar. My google calendar still remains empty. When it was
syncing, it even said it was transferring over 30 items of 178 and
kept updating. Is there something else I am forgetting?

I've just uninstalled the sync program and am thinking about creating
a new google calendar or just reverting to Outlook because my current
google calendar is un-usable if I can't edit events or add events. I
wonder why google is creating such a problem for itself. Or why the
sync setup seems to allow for frequent syncing... there's no
information in the set up instructions to indicate that we should
limit the frequency of syncs. Syncing's a great idea. It doesn't
work yet.
