Subject: ical / caldav
Hi all,

I'm just trying to configure ical (macos 10.5.4) with the new google
calendar caldav feature...
It login successfully, but my events don't appear in ical.

I create a new event in ical, it appears in google calendar.
I create a new event in google calendar, it never appeear in ical
(after refresh of course).

I know  this problem is listed as known issue, but os there any
workaround ? before i was using spanning sync (in trial mode).

Thanks in avance.

I am experience similar symptoms. Can you check you console log and
see if you get an error message similar to this?

7/29/08 7:15:46 AM iCal[15157] Exception in -
[CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation
refreshWithExceptionHandling] :: *** -[NSCFDictionary
setObject:forKey:]: attempt to insert nil key

If you do, I still don't know how to fix it, but at least we'd know
that it's not just us.

Please let me know.

I too am experiencing one-way syncs.  I can create an event in ical
and it shows in Google, but not vice versa.  Is this related to the
known issue that some Google Calendar events won't display in ical?
Google says this happens for only a small percentage of calendars.  It
seems the % may be larger than they anticipated.

i also have the same problems.
The wierd part is, that when i add an secondary account
[email address] it does work but when i add
"[email address]" is doesn't
i read somewhere that google has contacted apple about it so it might
be fixed in a week or so.

I second this problem. Secondary calendars added using the long string
of characters @ group.calendar.google.com works fine but my primary
added using my email address does not work. I have a second email
address associated with my google account (for using Google Calendar
Sync with Outlook on my work computer) and I tried placing it in the
URL between /dav/ and /user as well with no success.

My @gmail.com calendar is fine, as are 10 other @gmail and @group
calendars I sync, but one (important!) @group calendar fails to sync.
So, for what its worth, it's not exactly cut and dried that @gmail
fails and @group works...

Hi Chad,

This is the only thread I've found that accurately describes the
problem.

It's frustrating (and indicative of an unreliable product) that we're
getting this erratic behavior from gcal within ical.  Most of the many
calendars I have in gcal come across to ical smoothly, but my "work"
calendar (which is new so it's not even very large) will not function.

My symptoms are:
- I add the calendar to ical per Google's instructions
- The calendar appears in ical, but no events load.
- New ical events are pushed to gcal, but changes (on either end) are
not reflected on the other.
- New gcal events do not appear in ical.

I, too, get error logs (e.g.):
8/6/08 10:44:53 AM iCal[9125] Exception in -
[CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation
refreshWithExceptionHandling] :: *** -[NSCFDictionary
setObject:forKey:]: attempt to insert nil key

I don't have a proposed solution.  I've deleted and recreated the gcal
repeatedly to no avail.
