Hi!
Recently I add my google calendar to iCal using CalDAV. And create a
test event (in iCal) in russian (my native lang). Event sync OK and i
see it in russian in web. But iCal version of an event become
unreadable.
Here you can see what i mean (sorry, post is in russian but you can
see a sample images. Left is from iCal. Right is from Google
Calendar.web)
Same here. Hebrew doesn't work either. The title turns to question
marks after it is synced to the server.

Только что хотел то же самое написать. Русский не работает ни в
какую.
I got a same trouble. Russian doesn't work.

Glad to tell you -- its working now!
Today i check it (do this 1-2 times/wekk) and now it works just fine.
