I've been importing data via CSV files, a year at a time, into an empty
calendar

I got the message "Processed 1194 events. Successfully imported 1160
events", and for the next year "Processed 632 events. Successfully
imported 0 events", and the next one  "Processed 16 events.
Successfully imported 0 events", etc

I've imported maybe 4000 events already, so have I hit some sort of
maximum limit that I'm allowed?

I deleted all events in my calendar, and then successfully imported my
original 11 files (6098 events)

I had not been successful when re-trying a file import, until I deleted
*all* the events (dustbin icon next to calendar)
