Subject: iCal requiring multiple password entries to do caldav authentication
I have multiple calendars that I'm subscribing to via a CalDAV account
in iCal.  I've subscribed via the instructions available here:

http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=99358

Every time I open iCal or resync the calendars, I get a series of
Authentication dialogs that say:

Authentication with calendar
The server "www.google.com" rejected your login or password.
Login:
Password:

If I type my google account and password in (sometimes 4 or 5 times
per subscribed calendar) my calendars will eventually sync.

Is there a messed authentication server in google-land?

I am also having this issue.  It never prompts after the first time
even when syncing so I am not sure what the deal is but it is an
annoyance to have to enter the password 3 or 4 times when you have
already set it up in the ical options.

I can't get iCal to authenticate.  In fact, I can't even authenticate
using the https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/... URL straight from my
browser.  I have triple-checked the URL and my username and password
(they work fine when I login to this forum and I can see my Google
calendars).  So, it seems like there is something broken in the CalDAV
authentication service.

Same issue, I even tried removing and adding the accounts back in with
no luck.  Any other discussion on this since September?  I only have
to supply password a single time per account when I fire up iCal.  But
I have to do it every time. I have four calendars calDAV'd in, so I
supply the password to four cascaded dialog boxes.

I have this problem too. I used Calaboration to setup iCal to synch
with my Google Calendars and now it says:

<Authentication with calendar>
The server "www.google.com" rejected your login or password.

When I put in my password it behaves correctly. Is this a problem with
iCal or Google?

Same problem here....and I'm only syncing to one Google
Calendar.....it rejects my password randomly but then periodically it
works.  I guess these are the bugs we must accept during the early
stages of software roll-out?

same problem here.  it is very irritating.  I did not have this
problem when I used webdav prior to calaboration, but now it is
occurring all the time.

Same issue here. I also cannot log in to Google Talk with Adium (on my
home mac), or into my Google Apps with the Gmail Icon gadget (on my
Win XP work computer). It seems that I've been locked out from
accessing my google accounts with third-party apps. Any ideas?

Thanks,
josh

Hey folks,

Thanks to everyone for letting me know about this issue, and I'm sorry
to hear that you guys are experiencing this behavior with
Calaboration. I've relayed your reports to our team over here, and
we're currently at work to find a solution. I noticed another thread
started on this topic, and would ask you guys to check there for
future updates on the issue:

http://groups.google.com/group/google-calendar-help-bugs/browse_threa...
Thanks for your patience, and for keeping me posted -- I'll let you
know in the thread above as soon as I have an update.

Cheers,
Charlie
