I've tried several times to import my blog from wordpress to blogger,
but keep getting the same error message. I exported an XLS file from
wordpress, saved it to my desktop, but it won't work.

Hi Heather,

You need to convert it from WordPress's export format first. If your file is less than a meg, you can use the http://wordpress2blogger.appspot.com/ tool to do this.
