Hi Google App developers,

First let me just say that this announcement has definitely stirred
the Django community! (The IRC and mailing lists have been buzzing all
morning.)

I have one Django-related question:

What was the rationale behind not providing a Django backend for a
subset of the datastore api?

I know there are a lot of technical difficulties, but providing basic
functionality would allow basic apps written for Django to work (and
hence provide the reusability that everyone loves). There are some
discussions [1] of people who are prepared to explore that route. I'm
assuming someone who worked with the Google App Engine has already
explored it at *some* level. I'm wondering if we can get some wisdom
before 5 different people go off trying something that has already
been tried twice.

Cheers,

Doh. I didn't mean to include a mention of uploading at this point.

Cheers,
Mike
