improvements regarding ongoing latency issues

We want to update you on our progress as we work to resolve the
latency issues affecting some App Engine applications. As of yesterday
evening, two latency-related issues remained unresolved. Today, we
can report significant improvements for both issues. Latency has been
significantly reduced throughout the system and all applications
should see an increase in processing and serving throughput. Despite
these improvements, latencies do remain higher now than for the
equivalent time period last week. We will continue our efforts at
decreasing system latency and you can expect continued improvements in
performance.

Updated status on the issues:

#1 Increased latency for dynamically served pages. This has improved
significantly. All applications should have their functionality
restored and should see only slight, though still measurable, delays
in response time.

#2 Increased datastore latency. This has improved. Some applications
may still be experiencing delays, but we expect to see further
improvements tomorrow.

messages and greatly appreciate your support and input. Status updates
will be posted as soon as new information is available.
